Toelichting: I am getting married in Saudi Arabia, to a saudi National. I am a Dutch national. Presently I have to marry in a Saudi mosque first. Are there any punishable laws in Holland? when i go back to Holland and marry again according to dutch law. Is there a fine or punishment because i married first in a religious way (mosque)? Since it wont be valid according to dutch law
looking forward to your reply.

Antwoord: According to the Dutchlaw, noreligiousceremoniestake placebeforetheparties aremarriedin frontoftheregistrar.
This is a Dutch law which only counts in the Netherlands. It doesn't matter if you marry in a religious way in an other country, like Saudi Arabia, first. Youare notpunishable in the Netherlands whenyou marry in front of the registrar after, as long you don't marry in a religious way in the Netherlands before.
